nevermind. now prelims have come, going soon in 5 days. ok not that soon.
anyway i was thinking about the term 'generation degradation' - coined by weirong - some days back, and i just felt like its not entirely true. yes, the younger generation has really degraded. no, not only them. looking at everyone..i guess it started from the top down. in terms of age. okay not the adult population - above say, 25.
its the JC, Uni and first few years of work people. when i was in P4, i used to think that 'Whoa, the P6s and above, really quite mature.' they held themselves up as more dignified and refined. better values, better behavior, generally better personalities. i really did look up to most of them, those of my brother's age.
then when i was Sec 1 & 2, i used to think that the guys in the school that were 2 years my senior, had those same qualities. more promising generation. and i especially noticed the older girls. (sorry lah despo year for me lol) they were really quite zai. so refined! much different from this generation. i used to respect them.
then boom. Sec 3 & 4, here i am. look at JC girls. where did the term skirts go to? substituted into the word equation 'short' of 'mini' or 'ultra-super-duber-uber-short'. ALL OF THEM WEAR SHORT SKIRTS. honestly, the longest i've ever seen is down till knee length, but the knee's still visible. even so, its on a rare occasion. short short short short short. some even go so short that you'd be surprised if your knickers are longer than them. joking lol. going to reach the not-so-short FBT height liao.
look at them! no maturity also. jumping around in public. talking loudly and over-animatedly. acting like people who went into Woodbridge, released, then admitted herself in again.
i don't know where that genteelness went to. generation degradation - in both ways up and down.
