i feel like changing blogskin. get something simpler. becasue this one's quite messed up.
anyway, there's something really queer about English. one is that when i'm writing/blogging, i just can't find the correct words. there, you've just seen an example. i can't think of a word suitable enough to replace 'correct'. ok probably its 'suitable', but i really can't find any better word. BUT when i read stuff, i often come arcoss words i'm fully familiar with. but i just don't use them. or rather, i just can't recollect them to use them when i'm writing. that's what weird..
okay anyway, today was english prelims. i think i didn't fare too well? guess it'll be pretty boring cause i wrote the same thing as most of my other chums did. rest=die. why? my essay definitely won't be a novel read. i won't score high. damn. HOW DO THOSE BASTARDS GET A1 FOR ENGLISH?! tell me! i want to know! i got to know! or my O's will suffer the consequences. because my chinese sucks. you can tell.
and then there was the situational writing. missed out a thing or two in the letterhead. i never liked sit writing.
okay now i'm crossing the fine line separating rambling and randomness. i just upgraded to randomness.
when i grow up, i'd be a commercial airline co-pilot. okay, it sounds lame. but my reasons are much different from that of those primary school kids.
1st, the pay's high, real high. though low compared to the pilot's. i mean you get like almost $100000 every time you make a flight? and better still, you don't really fly that much, cause you're a copilot.
2nd, its cause i really have a passion for flying. i feel that thrill whenever i'm up there. the sky's so blue, the clouds' so white and pure. really, clouds up there look real different from how they appear from below. everything's just so calm, so peaceful, so serene. you literally leave all your troubles on the ground.
3rd, i want to travel the globe. i want to visit foreign soil, admire the views, appreciate the landscape, experience that sensation you get when you're in a country in stark contrast to what you're accustomed to.
by the way, i haven't yet been to a country where there's snow.
4th, a combination of reasons 1 & 4. YOU GET PAID TO VISIT THE WORLD. how good is that?! you earn money from doing what you like! that blows me away.
but then again, there are complications.
1st, eyesight. but if i'm good enough, i may get LASIK. i still want to do LASIK anyway.
2nd, its not gonna be easy maintaining your copilot position. getting there's already hard enough, much less maintaining it. can you imagine?
captain: "you've been promoted to pilot, congrats."
copilot: "no thanks, i'd rather stay as copilot."
its just weird to turn down a promotion.
3rd is the risk involved. i don't really mind it, but compared to military poilots, who do you think is better off? okay how many times do military planes crash?? i don't think ever at all. only i war. and i suppose war won't show its face so soon.
4th, if i happen to be in control of the commercial jet when it crashes, i'll feel REALLY guilty. that's if i'm still alive. but supposing i am, i'll live the rest of my life knowing how many lives lost from my flying. its as good as they were killed by my own hand. so there.
sometimes i consider being a military pilot. i mean, you're in control of your own plane. if it goes down, you'll be the only one killed. you'll be responsible for your own death. c'mon, how big a burden is that?? but the pay's low (1) and you don't get to visit the world (2). but you get to fly planes that go real fast. can you imagine flying along at twice the speed of sound, Mach 2? its mind-boggling. there an added thrill. but hey, its the military, you can't just fly fast whenever you like (3). hmm. test pilot sounds good. anyway, one big risk is involved. well, sorta big, for people who can't afford to get shorter. you know, some pilots' backbones shrink or compress (4) by almost 3cm when they eject out of their cockpits. 3cm isn't that little.
commercial copilot, military pilot, test pilot. let me ponder over it..leave me to my randomness for awhile..lol.
